The Trustees of The New Castle Common is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1764 and reincorporated by the Delaware Assembly in 1792. Its purpose is to preserve and protect the historic Common lands for the use and benefit of the inhabitants of the town of New Castle. Income is derived primarily from property rentals and investments.

Notice of Trustee Election


Results of the April 13, 2024 Election

539 total votes cast

Regina Schauber Marini - 259 votes

Laura L. Fontana - 248 votes

Philip Gross - 32 votes

As a result of no candidate receiving a majority of the total number of votes cast, a runoff election is being held between Regina Schauber Marini and Laura L. Fontana.

The runoff election to fill the open seat on the Board of the Trustees of the New Castle Common will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Good Will Fire Company Station,

401 South Street, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Early voting at the Penn Farm office will be available Monday, April 29 through Thursday, May 30, 2024, Monday through Thursday, 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. One evening for early voting at Penn Farm is scheduled on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
